In Honor of Mr. Bill Monroe
by Ronnie Reno

- We’d like to invite you to one
of the oldest festivals in the world, the 35th Annual Bill Monroe
Hall of Fame and Uncle Pen Days Bluegrass Festival held September 23rd
thru the 26th in Bean Blossom, IN.
-
- One of Bill Monroe’s role
models was his fiddle playin’ Uncle Pendleton Vandiver, whom he paid tribute to
in the hit song “Uncle Pen”. Bill created the Hall of Fame and Uncle Pen Days
Festival to not only honor Uncle Pen but to pay tribute to those he felt made
contributions to bluegrass music. This year they are going to induct Doc Watson
into the Hall of Fame.
-
- Now in its 35th
year, there’s four fun filled days of music; over 25 performing artists; music
and instrument workshops; and a lot of pickin’ and jammin’.
-
- Please join The Reno
Tradition and yours truly for a great weekend of music from many of the greatest
acts in Bluegrass today.
